Day out at Somerset House
Rob and Tan phoned up and invited us for a day out in town – we made the long trek (less than half an hour in the car) and parked on Waterloo Bridge. I’d been to Somerset House in years past for the Courtauld Institue and had even worked for six weeks in the Department of Marriages as a temp. The job mostly involved reading the papers and looking out at the river Thames below. Great thing about its big courtyard are the fountains which every so often randomly shoot up to more than 12 feet in height. Lots of parents and kids come and play. Is and I and Ames and Gabes got royally soaked and enjoyed every moment.

Ames and Gabes and Mara and Tashie got on as well as ever, riding up and down on their scooters. And it was another chance to see our wonderful god-daughter, Lola Annie-Rose now all of three months old:

Then over the bridge for a walk alongside the river with many others on a beautiful late summer afternoon – ice creams and a short stay at a Turkish festival beside Gabriel’s wharf.
