LoveFilm

As the previous post indicates, I’ve been really enjoying the service from Lovefilm. One feature (that reveals my recent enthusiastic takeup of RSS) that would be welcome is quoted below from my email to the company. No sign of any response other than the usual ‘thank you for your suggestion’.

Have you considered providing RSS feeds from your website? This would provide significant advertising potential for your company. A couple of examples:1. People would be able to syndicate your new dvd page into their own websites, blogs, etc.
    2. You could provide an RSS feed from a user’s ‘Rented’ pages that allowed them to include their reviews with a link to your site. As an example, look at the ‘Recent Photos’ listing on the righthand side of my blog – you’ll note a link to the Flickr service provided at the bottom. I’d be very happy to include such a service on my blog and believe others would too.

The next version of Apple’s operating system, due out by June 2005, will include an update of its browser, Safari, which will allow users to bookmark and view RSS feeds alongside websites.

    Just a thought.
