The thirteenth month of the year

“Meaning that, when [Bruno] Schulz in Cinnamon Shops [from The Street Of Crocodiles], summarizes the “thirteenth month of the year” I think I discovered a metaphor that adapts itself well to animation, or rather animation that lives on the margins of mainstream production. Animation that has not been colonized by idiots or by television. We want animation to be like a mark on the margins, a grand apocryphal, in the same sense as Bruno Schulz’s work.”
From an interview with the Brothers Quay.
