And I thought I was the only one. The only one to have had this album on vinyl years ago, to be haunted by songs that come back to me, to search for a re-release. Don’t know how I missed this page on the occasions I’ve searched before, but I’m glad to have found it now. Thanks.

Je possède cet album qui est en parfait état car à l’époque, je l’avai tout de suite copié sur k7 pour pouvoir l’écouter partout !
Je ne suis pas préssée de le vendre et en plus, je ne sais pas sa valeur marchande.

I actually own the album but no longer have a turntable. I discovered the album the same year as he was killed and listened to it daily for a while. I just loved his words and the rhythm and rhymes. So sad that people kill what they don’t understand. Stoned to death? this is crazy. I wish they’d recreate on cd. Even limewire doesn’t have nor does itunes. You can’t buy this great artistic statement.

I use to have this album in vinyl, bought it in mid 80’s. Lost it -along with all my other vinyl like LKJ, BM, Docter Alimantado, Eak a Mouse and many many others maybe 75-85 albums- after moving from place to place to place… thank you so much for sharing this! looked for this album for a long time you made me a happy man! greetings from Leiden (Holland)

I came across Mi cyaan believe it in a record shop in 1987 by chance and I couldn’t believe it. The tracks to me seemed to open up a whole new avenue for reggae music which tragically did not evolve. My folks in Zurich, Switzerland, certainly found the crude imitations of Michael Smith a bit strange which their teen-age mate would not stop to produce. The voice has lingered on in my ear ever since, while the record soon got lost. A million thanks!

How excited I was to hear Trainer again after all these years, having lent my album to someone in 1985 and never seeing it again. Yet this track has been in my head for ever – it is so powerful, and comes up like an echo when you see injustice and people in trouble. I was the same age as Mikey Smith when he died so when I hear the man at the bus stop saying “lord jesus christ me am twenty-nine” it’s very moving.

There’s a showing of a documentary on Michael Smith on 14th November at Congress House; Great Russell Street 6.30 – tickets are free but you need to book at sertucevents@tuc.org.uk – pass this on to whoever you can. Love you for these tracks! xxx
