Hi there, I ran across this site recently looking for insight into his VF's. I found the sheet music and have been working on a few numbers. I've never heard of any orchestrated versions of the VF's and I wonder if you're still willing to share your mp3's?

Thanks much!

Here I am a year and a half later, a minute after finishing digitising the orchestrated version of Fugitive Visions. Will, you didn't leave your email address, but should you ever swing by this blog again - do let me know and I'll send you the mp3s. They're very beautiful indeed.

Hello Will, if I ever manage to digitise my vinyl copy of the orchestrated Visions Fugitives I'll post a comment here. Unfortunately I don't have the setup at present to do so. I'm struck too that we should share similar tastes (the 2nd symphony is my favourite too, I bought the EMI Classics box of complete symphonies and tone poems a few months back - 8 CDs for a miniscule amount of money, must give it some more listens). Thank you for your kind words. It's gratifying to write something like this post and have someone all these months later find it interesting enough to post a comment.

this is an excellent post. prokofiev's work is so unbelievably creative and wonderful. i would love to hear the orchestral arrangement you describe.

there is an incredible depth of beauty in orchestral/art music... i hope you pursue it. although dense it may be i find it a lot more rewarding in every way than other styles i've listened to attentively. i would recommend prokofiev's piano concertos.

as an aside, it's pretty fantastic that one can find something like this through the simple search query "prokofiev visions fugitives". our tastes are strangely aligned - i am very fond of almost everything you mention in your final paragraph, especially the ravel and sibelius (symphony no. 2 is particularly beautiful)... and alva noto, and leaf, and css(stylesheets), and so on. i like this blog. goodbye (:
