Transitional design

De rigeur vertical gradient, lighter at the top, darker at the bottom as per version 6 – replaces previous kitsch-ey stainless steel surface of, if memory serves, version 5. Same light source is applied now to the slider controls which were previously aqua-fied. Aqua remains in the tick box, the dropdown menu for presets and the traffic lights. I wonder whether these elements will be retained or whether Apple’s interface designers are intent upon eradicating colour. If the overall look of iTunes 7 is anything to go by, that does seem to be the case, but one can live in hope. See Final Cut Pro for battleship grey design cues.
