Oh, and Bruce (if you're somehow coming back to this a half month later), I have the magnets for the 20' to 2000 series, and while they're great in theory, they tend to pull the cases apart slightly. It's odd.

Raster-Noton is easily one of my favorite labels because of their attention to creating packaging that suits their music. And the music is wonderful.

I have the same feeling about the Chain Reaction tins - I've all of them except the compilation (Compiled CRD-06) which I just never see on eBay.

Well, I don't have every R-N release, but I probably have a majority. I do have a couple discs dating back to before they added the N to R-N. Now, if only I had purchased those magnets that hold together all the 20"-2000 EPs!

periodicchair, thanks for the pointer - it's a shame the pics on the label site aren't clearer.

Bruce, if you've been collecting R-N's (generally limited edition) releases for a while you'll be sitting on a nice little nest egg! I didn't know that Xerrox vol.1 had been released on an SD card. I can't say I'm tempted to buy an extra copy though, as it's not a very attractive format unlike the <a href="http://www.eleventhvolume.com/miscellany/2007/01/07/notosakamoto-revep-ep/" rel="nofollow">Revep clear vinyl 12"</a>. I had seen the Ghostly stick before, another strange one - slightly reminds me of Factory cassettes, a sort of media cul-de-sac.

Mapsa - did you see them play at the Barbican? It was a <a href="http://www.eleventhvolume.com/reviews/concerts/files/noto_sakamoto.html" rel="nofollow">lovely experience</a>. Ooh and you do have the Revep EP don't you? The Insen Live is well worth seeing/hearing. I've extracted a copy of the audio and listen to that a lot more often than I watch the DVD itself. What's fascinating about listening to the live performance is the element of improvisation they add, it puts the previous work in a slightly different light.

Yes, I'm a big fan of the work with Sakamoto, such a perfect collaboration. Xerrox did send me scurrying back to Vrioon and Insen. I still haven't seen the Insen DVD though, which is remiss of me.

I've been collecting Raster releases for several years now and I absolutely adore their dedication to well-designed packaging. I noticed that the new Alva Noto is also being released on an SD card, which is an interesting way for the label to address the trend towards MP3s, while still producing a physical object. Speaking on which, have you seen this:
