Sorry to hear you weren't impressed Mark. I'm not sure whether it was the sound system that was the issue with Pan Sonic as it appeared to be the same one used by Haswell/Hecker. I thought the latter's strongest quality was the quality and impact of the sound more than their compositional approach.

I was at this gig, a friend suggested we go and was really into Pan sonic. I hadnt heard any of their music and was very un impressed. I heard stuff on CD the next day and understood more. I think the sound system in the venue wasnt that good, and most detail was somehow lost.

As for Hecker it was pretty basic, there was no real pushing of the envelope. I think experimental music should be more than just not following any compositional rules. It seemed to be one idea then another then another - nothing more complex.

Thanks for the kind words Scott. Yours were strikingly pulchritudinous too. Heh, I was in fancy dress masquerading as a human that night. Sounds like you're mistreating your ears to such an extent they may leave you, may be best to check for them in the morning on waking.

Brilliant photos. Would have said hello, but despite having had a good look around, I didn't see a blue and red gramophone anywhere.

I compounded the misery for my ears by going to see Glenn Branca's symphony for 100 electric guitars the next day, and then - even worse - on Saturday I was in a pub full of several hundred screaming Scotsmen. The world is just a tinny buzz now.
