		<description>I know what you mean about 'understanding' - something can often make intuitive sense without being logical or reasonable, as in surrealism or Laurie Anderson's best work for example. I do think the Guardian analysis is well worth a read though.</description>

		<description>i've often felt that, watching his films, if i'm trying to "understand" something (in the usual sense), i'm not really engaging with it properly. i watched this last year, &#38; while i was similarly flummoxed, for the most part it struck me this was a very elaborate "mood" piece. Either that, or the trademark Lynch "red herrings" have finally taken over...</description>
