Drifting and Tilting - The Songs of Scott Walker

World premiere live performances of songs from Scott Walker’s seminal works including Tilt and Drift.

These special concerts, produced by Walker himself, will be set and designed for the Barbican Theatre stage, and include orchestra, Scott’s band, and feature special guest vocalists performing his songs.

Please note: Scott Walker will NOT be performing.

Thanks for the heads up Colin, I’ve booked for the 14th too. Surely the lineup will consist of those featured on 30th Century Man. I’m really looking forward to Lulu’s take on “Cossacks Are”, and hearing Sting do “The Cockfighter”.

I think the easiest thing would be for me to remodel myself according to your mental image. I love the sound of that, particularly the long white beard (five months should be enough time!).

Bloody hell - is it five months away. Long time to wait. I’ve been listening to The Drift on repeat (four times today). It finally makes perfect sense to me, a fact that is both frightening and sadly true.

Gabriel, agreed, but I’m also pretty fascinated to find out who will be doing the singing and hearing new interpretations of this work. Then again who could match - let alone surpass - Scott’s Farmer In The City, for example?
